American Candidate

By Keith Boykin

KeithI have exciting news to report! I'm happy to announce that I'm running for American Candidate. For the next few weeks, I will be running a televised campaign on a reality tv show on Showtime, and I need your support. The campaign will begin on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in New York City at 6 p.m. The location will be announced later today.

American Candidate is a new reality tv show on Showtime in which 12 contestants compete in a series of tests during a simulated presidential campaign. The first test is the campaign announcement. The two candidates with the least number of participants at the campaign rally will face elimination.

I do not want to be eliminated, so I really, really need you to come out to the rally tomorrow night! It's gonna be on television. See you there!!

Keith you are just TOOOOO handsome!

I'm so proud and awed by you.

Best of luck. You have my support but I don't have cable and when I went to that web site you are not listed as a candidate. We can't vote till your are on the ticket. Please advise.

What can one do who doesn't live in your area, participate in supporting you? I am on the website now and I can't seem to find your page or profile.

That's one way to get in politics.

Damn! Damn!! Damn!!! It's my last week before vacation and I ain't 'bout to use a personal day now! But I'll support you in any way I can.

Just make sure you don't come off looking like a fool and totally not Keith Bokyin.

I am not on the website because the website does not list the finalists. The site only lists the thousands of people who applied.

Best of luck "Keith" I have been watching you through the years and to me. You make a wonderful President, I'd vote for you anyday. And I will give my support along with the House of Ultra OMNI". Much Success and love. Turn IT OUT!

You got my vote!
What a coincidence! American Candidate scouts were observing me at a Marriage Equality meeting
and asked me to submit.
Alas, I have no time. Too busy getting "Shepard/Till-An American Ode" final drafts ready.
Hopefully, this play will bridge the gay/black human rights history divide.
I will be looking for you on Showtime and cheering you on.
Keep us apprised of where you might be landing, I certainly want to meet you the next time you're in LA.

My dearest darling short-cut candidate:

We, the 416 (minus 1) who went through
the "normal" PROCESS of application ...
salute those who have -- as is fitting
American politics -- been simply
handed a place at the head of the line.

{imagine a winning smile here
that transcends the seemingly
ungracious impropriety of
the preceding line and makes
you love me without reservation}

Ah ... but this is America... AND
SOMETIMES ... things don't work out
just like "the powers that be" plan.

{imagine a knowing smile
of a different nature }

Remember this word: "RHETORIC."
A word few truly understand ...
BUT many more will ... my dearest
candidate without an application.

FOR A CLUE to the meaning of RHETORIC:
Google boke
Google showtime orator
Google american candidate showtime
Google bob vanech

And imagine 1,000 Shakespearean
form sonnets of rhetorical verse.

Do you think RJ defines this reality?
Guess again.

Kindest regards,

American Candidate id=923
(Just one name. One of the 416.)

P.S. On any issue, including the one(s) you
are most famous for asserting an honorable
and strong position ... I hereby challenge
you -- a rhetorically incompetent baby --
to a debate which you will lose ...
much to the delight of the audience
assembled ... perhaps at Oxford
or Cambridge ... Where I will be
met with HEAR HEARS! ... and
you with SHAME! {smile}
An apparently pointless offer from
one of the "unchosen" ... BUT let it
sit on the table for a few months ...
and see how REALITY may shift.
